Etching Blankets

 The Pusher Blanket is the uppermost blanket and receives the most wear as it is subject to friction from the top roller.

The Cushion Blanket is the centre blanket and is the heaviest and most important of the 3 blankets. Manufactured from pressed woolen felt 5-6mm thick . A cushion blanket in poor condition will give unsatisfactory results.

The Size Catcher Blanket is the final blanket immediately above the etching paper. This absorbs the excess water and paper sizing materials squeezed out of the etching paper and helps to protect the more expensive cushion blanket.
